Tomorrow I am going to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy for 5 days to visit several projects the Foundation is considering supporting. The purpose of the visit will be to compile data which we will use in determining whether these projects suit our investment mandates, which are tailored specifically to Education and Medical.

Lewa is a conservancy that covers roughly 72,000 acres in the Laikipia area of Kenya, about a 4 hours drive north of Nairobi. Despite being known predominantly as a wildlife conservancy, it actually supports 15 schools in its vicinity. There are also 3 medical clinics which serve the various communities contained within, and bordering around the conservancy.
