When visiting different children’s bookstores around the world, whether in New York, Toronto, or Nairobi, we learned how important it was to put thought and creativity into shelving setup and display, to make them as interesting as possible for the kids.
Even with stacks of amazing books, children still need to be guided to different sections of the library to maximize use. Conceptually, these sections need to be clear, with as much visual stimulation as possible.
This was our guiding principle as we set up all of the sections and added the finishing touches. It was remarkable how a few adjustments made an enormous difference to the overall feel of the library, creating a much more inviting and child-friendly space
