I was so excited to read this blog post by Vickie Elmer. In it, Pam Rogers, who spent 15 years in finance at KPMG before becoming a children’s librarian and consultant, lists 5 children’s books she said all adults should read to learn valuable lessons on leadership. We are always looking for titles like these to add to our Primary School KEY Library list, which we include in every primary school donation. This is especially pertinent with our current primary school library projects at Maasai Wilderness and Lewa Downs. At both schools, there are adult literacy classes, and we are also looking at introducing mother/child literacy classes. How amazing for these parents, who obviously need to start with simple children’s texts, to still be able to read books with themes and lessons they can draw from, and discuss with their children? I am so grateful for posts like this – thank you Vickie!
